Any land lords out there? Just want an opinion...?

You need to ask now. Generally caged pets (at least in my area) don't really count as a pet, simply because they are in a cage. Some landlords, however, may not want anything that could stink up the place. He may allow it, but be prepared to pay a pet deposit. But, definitely don't wait til the last minute to ask. If he says no, you will be scrambling to find a home for your guinea pigs.
