Sounds like you don't want to do instances. If that's the case, grind humanoids in Hellfire Penn for gold and item drops. Vendor trash sells for a lot of gold and you'll get the occional blue item to sell on the AH for mega gold. Soon you'll have plenty of money for your flying mount. The other option is to work on a profession like enchanting or jewelcrafting that's in high demand and makes a lot money. Whatever you do, do it because you enjoy it, not because someone is forcing you to. Guilds like that are stupid.
