Why is to unacceptable for guys to wear skirts?

I prefer to wear skirts, so much more comfortable.I find womens clothes so much more comfortable.Why do people find this so hard to accept. I spent the last few days shopping, and there is nothing I want to buy accept nice looking skirts, tees, blouses, tops and dresses, not one item of male clothing enticed me to buy it, just womens clothes. Why cannot crossdressers, or men who prefer to wear womens clothes, not allowed or accepted, they are only clothes
