Wishin somone could help me out with the name of this movie.....?

its been since 2007 or 8 since it came out it was about a kid who just turned 18 and his so-called friends beat him unmercifully and threw him in a man hole along side the road where he lay half dead in limbo like state as his soul travels around and near the end he meets another guy in the same situation who is an old man in a hospital that is also in limbo and at the end of th movie the kid was flying a model plane with his little brother on a mountain.thats all i can remember ....
