Why is my fish tank so cloudy?

A couple of days ago I got a new fish tank. The first few days it was fine but i woke up this morning and it was cloudy. It wasnt really cloudy, but it was more off colour, like when you leave water on a window ledge. It isnt really in direct sunlight so it isnt that. what can i do to stop this?
