Samsung Exclaim Text Volume Issues?

I recently purchased this phone and so far the only problem I've come across is that when I receive a text the volume seems as if its on "escalate" mode. The first ring is barely audible. The 2nd ring is just loud enough to hear when its in my hand. Ive searched through the menus countless times to see if theres any way to fix this but I cant seem to locate it. Ive even flipped through the user manual and it didnt have any useful information either. Changing the text message volume to "separate volume" didnt help either. Anyone have a solution?
